While mom groups can be an amazing resource, it’s okay if you have a different social capacity that makes joining a structured network feel complicated or intimidating. There are so many ways to connect with other moms. Here are some ways our parents on staff have loved forming mom friendships:

  • Try a postpartum fitness class:Sometimes, signing up to try that postpartum yoga class or stroller walk meet-up is all it takes to bump into your new mom bestie.

  • Library story times:Joining story hours or playgroups at your local library can make for a seamless conversation starter with moms in the same season of life as you.

  • Check with your neighborhood:Sometimes, we need to remember to check our closest surroundings in this global digital age! See if your area has its neighborly page where moms may already be posting playdate opportunities within walking distance.

  • Follow mom blogs, podcasts, or online platforms that resonate with you.Engage in their communities, leave comments, and connect with other followers. Some of the strongest mom friendships have been known to form online, where similar interests and values are shared.

Building meaningful connections can happen through various avenues that align with your preferences and lifestyle.
