Here's a general timeline for when you can expect your baby's vision to become clearer:

Between birth and 8 weeks, a lot improves!

At first, things will be quite blurry. By the end of this period, they’ll be able to see the features of your face in greater detail.

By around 3 to 4 months, things also get colorful

Your baby will end their newborn stage being able to distinguish colors. Visual tracking skills and clarity continue to improve, too.

By around 5 months, three dimension kicks in more fully

Your baby's vision is still not comparable to yours, but being able to see more fully in three-dimension certainly improves things quite a bit more.

By the first birthday, they can see close to how you can see.

Each baby is unique and may progress at different rates. Your baby's vision will continue to develop throughout the first few years! If you have any concerns about vision development, consult with your pediatrician.
