A newborn will have irregular sleep patterns in the first few months of life, but you can start a bedtime routine to create a calm evening together. The building blocks of a bedtime routine are just a series of repeatable, predictable steps that cue “time to rest.” Choose 2-3 building blocks that you are most likely to offer consistently, like bath, massage, then lullaby.
