Back arching is a classic sign of infant reflux. It’s usually their way of coping with gas pains. Keep feeding your baby on demand, and aim to keep them upright for at least 30 minutes after feeding. If it is reflux, it tends to peak around weeks 6-8. Reflux in babies can present as mild or severe. There may be more you can do to help your baby if it is severe. Don’t hesitate to speak to your doctor or a lactation consultant if your baby routinely struggles.
