This is so common in the early months of life that the medical community calls it “nasal congestion of the newborn.” It’s chalked up to the fact that babies have tiny, sensitive airways. Plus, they are nose breathers, which makes any minor congestion sound much more pronounced. It should get better with time, but in the interim, it’s ideal to use saline drops and a cool mist humidifier.
