As a new parent, it's natural to observe every little thing your baby does, and you might have noticed that your baby seems particularly fascinated with their hands at around six to eight weeks. Rest assured, this behavior is entirely normal and even essential to their development. They’ve discovered they have hands! From the moment they are born, babies are in a constant state of exploration. Their hands are among the first things they discover. Staring at their tiny fingers and palms allows them to understand the concept of self and differentiate their body parts from their surroundings. This early self-awareness is a critical milestone in their overall development. As your baby grows, you'll witness them reaching even more exciting milestones in their journey of exploration and discovery, like realizing they also have feet – which typically hits them around 4-6 months old.
