Breast milk leakage is common in the early postpartum period as your supply learns to match the baby's needs. As your body adapts, leaking typically goes away but can be triggered by little things like hearing your baby cry. Thankfully, there are some products and tips to manage this curveball.

  • Try nursing pads:These absorb leaked milk, preventing it from seeping through your clothing.

  • Double up on layers:Wear loose, layered clothing to help camouflage any potential leaks and make it easier to change nursing pads on the go discreetly.

  • Hand expression:You can manually express some milk before feeding to relieve pressure and reduce the chances of a forceful let-down causing leakage from the other breast.

  • Nipple pressure:When you feel the sensation of milk letdown, you can try applying gentle pressure to the nipple to stop the flow of milk.

Leaking breasts may initially catch you off guard, but it's a regular occurrence during breastfeeding. This, too, shall pass!
