Go beyond cradle hold and try these three cozy positions:

  • Football hold -Position your baby at your side, tucked under your arm, with their legs pointing towards your back. Support your baby's head and neck with your hand. This position can help keep pressure off your abdomen or perineal area.

  • Laid-back position -Lean back at a 45-degree angle. Place your baby on your chest, allowing them to rest against you while latching on. This position can help alleviate pressure on your perineum and allow for a more relaxed feeding experience.

  • Side-lying position -Lie on your side. Place your baby facing you, using a nursing pillow or additional support to elevate them to breast level. This position can be gentle on your healing body and allows you to rest while breastfeeding.
