Rest should be your priority, but gentle exercise like walking or stretching is great. Aim for 10-15 minutes of light activity a few times a week and gradually increase the duration as your body feels ready. Strenuous activities or exercise programs should be avoided until your OBGYN or midwife has given you clearance. Typically, clearance for more or new physical activity is evaluated at your six-week postpartum appointment.
