This will depend on your birth experience and any complications that need to be monitored. Mom and baby are two patients so each patient is discharged by their doctor or ACP. Typically, if you have a vaginal birth without complications, you can go home within 24-48 hours. If you have a C-section, you can expect a 3-4 day stay. Complications can warrant a longer stay.
