If your baby boy has been circumcised, you may have questions about how to care for him during the healing process. Here are some essential tips:

Keep the area clean

Gently cleanse the area with warm water and a soft cloth. Avoid using wipes or alcohol-based products, as they may cause irritation.

Keep the area protected

After cleaning, apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly or a prescribed ointment to the circumcision site. This helps create a protective barrier and promotes healing. Follow your pediatrician's recommendations for ointment use and whether or not you should cover the area with a bandage.

It's also essential to avoid restrictive clothing or tight-fitting diapers.

Keep a close eye on the circumcision site for signs of infection, such as increased redness, swelling, pus, or a foul odor. If you notice any concerning symptoms, contact your pediatrician immediately.
