Cooing is a type of vocalization that sounds like “ahh, or “ooh.” You can expect to hear these sweet noises by 6-8 weeks. This is a way for your baby to communicate with you, express their emotions, and build vocal skills. It’s important to honor your baby’s coos with the same attentiveness you’d give an adult trying to strike up a conversation with you. Engage back in conversation with your baby, either by talking or making cooing sounds back.
