It is standard practice to follow up with your baby’s pediatrician 24-72 hours after hospital discharge. The provider discharging you should explain if there is any need to make other arrangements given the baby’s hospital course. They will also measure your baby’s weight, height and head circumference while answering your questions on feeding, sleep, safety, and wellness.
